The Bonne Espérance stream crosses the park from south to north. Arrived in front of the facade of the castle, it rushes into a pertuis which runs along its eastern side, the northern facade to then join the neighboring property by crossing the intersection of rue Bonne Espérance and rue Longue Ruelle. This crossing is carried out in two concrete pipes of 40cm in section which proved to be insufficient during the floods of 15/7/2021. In reality, the problems appeared at the level of the pertuis in 2003. This situation led the town of Huy to carry out excavation work which has lasted for several weeks and which we are told will last at least 6 months.

Beech trees are strongly impacted by climate change. For twenty years the phenomenon seems to be accelerating. We must imperatively replant suitable species.
